During our speed tests of Private Internet Access (PIA), we observed a minimal speed loss of only 95 Mbps on short-distance connections, which is an exceptionally fast outcome.
While the long-distance connection speeds of Private Internet Access (PIA) were not as remarkable, they remain sufficient for activities such as streaming, torrenting, and web browsing. As anticipated, the servers located farthest from our testing base in the US experienced the greatest speed reductions.
However, even over considerable distances, PIA maintains commendable performance. For instance, when connected to a server in Australia, we consistently achieved speeds of 82 Mbps, demonstrating that PIA minimizes the impact on download speeds during long-distance connections.
The primary concern identified during our speed testing with PIA is its inconsistency compared to some of its fastest competitors. There can be significant fluctuations in performance from week to week, which slightly detracts from its overall standing.
While there are faster VPN services than Private Internet Access (PIA), particularly for long-distance connections, PIA competes favorably against many major VPN providers. For instance, our review of Hotspot Shield highlights its exceptional global speeds. Nonetheless, as illustrated above, PIA matches or exceeds the performance of several prominent VPN brands.
Expert Advice: To achieve optimal speeds with PIA, it is recommended to connect to a server using the ‘Choose Automatically’ option.
PIA Delivers Low Ping Times for Smooth Gaming
In our evaluation of VPN speeds, we also measured ping times, and PIA performed impressively in this regard. You can maintain your connection to PIA while gaming without experiencing noticeable differences in gameplay, whether connected to a nearby server or one located in another country.
PIA recorded a ping of 6 ms when connected to a server in the same city, which is virtually indistinguishable from a ping of 4 ms with no VPN in use. For gamers who enjoy playing titles like World of Warcraft or League of Legends on servers located in different regions, PIA remains an excellent option, only increasing our ping to 6 ms when connected to a server in the UK, approximately 3,500 miles away.

However, it is important to note that our reviews of ExpressVPN and Windscribe indicate that both VPNs are more adept at circumventing Netflix’s geo-blocks globally.
PIA Streams UK Video Content
In our evaluation, the “UK London-Streaming” server consistently unblocked BBC iPlayer without any issues.
At this time, we can confidently assert that Private Internet Access (PIA) effectively accesses all major UK streaming services, including ITVX and Channel 4.
PIA Unblocks Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and HBO Max
Our tests indicate that PIA VPN is among the leading VPNs for Hotstar, and it also successfully connects to numerous other platforms, including Hulu, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video.
Furthermore, PIA’s impressive speeds ensure a seamless streaming experience, allowing for high-definition and 4K viewing without lag.
While PIA has not traditionally been recognized as a premier streaming VPN, its recent performance in our assessments has been outstanding. With its expansive server network, PIA has begun to surpass some of the more established VPNs in the streaming arena. Notably, it has become our top recommendation for watching Champions League matches for free via LiveScore Ireland and for accessing blackout NHL games.
Comparison of PIA’s Streaming Performance with Other Leading VPNs
The table below provides a comparison of Private Internet Access (PIA) against other top streaming VPNs, focusing on access to Netflix and BBC iPlayer, as well as the availability of Smart DNS for streaming.
Torrenting
Why Private Internet Access (PIA) Is an Optimal VPN Choice
Torrenting Rating: 9.7/10
Private Internet Access (PIA) is widely regarded as the premier VPN for torrenting. With a stringent no-logs policy, unlimited bandwidth, and high-speed download capabilities, PIA stands out among VPN providers. Notably, it offers port forwarding, a feature that enhances the number of torrenting peers you can connect with, making it an ideal choice for avid torrent users.
Ranked #1 Among 62 VPNs for Torrenting
After evaluating 62 VPN services, PIA has emerged as the leading option for torrenting. It permits peer-to-peer (P2P) and file-sharing activities across all its servers, a significant advantage over many competitors that restrict P2P functionality on certain servers.
PIA is compatible with all major torrent clients, including Deluge, uTorrent, and Transmission, and we conducted tests using qBittorrent. Additionally, PIA includes MACE, an integrated ad blocker designed to prevent trackers and malware during your torrenting activities.
In our P2P assessments, we successfully downloaded torrents from all PIA servers, with no bandwidth limitations. Users can connect to any server location to initiate downloads seamlessly.
During our testing, we achieved a torrent download speed of 9.6 MiB/s while using PIA, one of the fastest rates recorded, surpassing other leading VPNs such as ExpressVPN and NordVPN. PIA ensures that there is no throttling or bandwidth restrictions, allowing torrents to download at speeds comparable to those achieved without a VPN.
PIA’s Advanced Port Forwarding Tool
Private Internet Access (PIA) features an impressive port forwarding tool that redirects incoming connections, effectively bypassing any NAT firewall. This functionality enhances your ability to connect with a greater number of torrenting peers, significantly improving P2P upload speeds. Within the PIA settings, users can forward to ports 443, 80, 110, 53, 8080, and 9201, optimizing their torrenting experience.
Reliable and Effective VPN Kill Switch
All PIA applications are equipped with a reliable VPN kill switch, designed to protect your traffic in the event of an unexpected internet connection drop. This feature is particularly crucial when torrenting files; without a functioning kill switch, your real IP address could be exposed to others if the VPN connection fails. Our testing confirmed that the kill switch operates effectively, providing consistent protection for users.
Price & Value
Affordable, High-Value VPN with a 30-Day Refund Policy
Price & Value Rating: 9.5/10
Private Internet Access (PIA) stands out not only as one of the leading VPNs overall but also as the top choice for budget-conscious users seeking exceptional value. The two-year plan, which includes an additional four months at no extra cost, offers the most significant savings at just $2.03 per month—an impressive 83% discount compared to the one-month plan.
Ranked #2 out of 62 VPNs for Price & Value
PIA provides three billing options, allowing users to subscribe for one month, one year, or two years:
- Monthly: $11.99/month (billed at $11.99 every month)
- 6 Months: $7.50/month (billed at $45.00 every six months)
- 28 Months: $2.03/month (billed at $56.94 for the first 28 months, then billed yearly thereafter)
The best monthly rates are associated with longer-term plans. While these options present excellent value, it is important to note that the entire amount must be paid upfront.
PIA not only ranks as the third-best VPN on our website but also remains one of the most affordable options available. The value offered is nearly unmatched when considering the comprehensive suite of features and exceptional performance. Furthermore, PIA’s recent policy change allowing an unlimited number of devices per account enhances its appeal even further.
Payment & Refund Options
PIA accepts a variety of payment methods, including:
- American Express
- Bitcoin
- Bitcoin Cash
- Mastercard
- PayPal
- UnionPay
- Visa
Additionally, users can opt for gift cards, which can be purchased anonymously with cash. This diverse range of payment methods is particularly beneficial for those seeking maximum privacy, as cryptocurrency and gift card options for VPNs are less common than they should be.
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
While Private Internet Access (PIA) does not offer a free version, users can access a seven-day free trial by registering through the App Store or Google Play. If you create your account via the official website, you will qualify for a 30-day risk-free money-back guarantee.
To cancel your subscription within the initial 30 days, simply submit a support ticket to the PIA team and request a full refund.

Server Locations
Private Internet Access (PIA) Boasts an Extensive VPN Server Network
Server Locations Rating: 9.9/10
Private Internet Access offers the largest server network among all VPN providers, featuring 18,651 servers across 153 locations in 91 countries, including all 50 states in the U.S. This extensive distribution allows user traffic to be evenly distributed across numerous servers, reducing congestion and enhancing overall performance.
PIA is ranked #1 out of 62 VPNs for server locations.
The significant advantage of PIA’s expansive server network is its ability to minimize server load, thereby increasing the likelihood of connecting to a reliable and nearby server. Below is a breakdown of the global distribution of its server locations:

This configuration enhances PIA’s speed, resulting in an average speed reduction of only 5% for local connections. For a more detailed analysis of the VPN’s speed performance, please refer to the dedicated section of this review.
Dedicated IP Addresses
Private Internet Access also provides dedicated IP addresses. Each dedicated IP address is unique to the user and remains consistent across connections. Currently, dedicated IP addresses are available in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Sweden, the UK, and the U.S., with an additional cost of $5.00 per month.
However, it is important to note that these dedicated IP addresses do not support streaming on any platforms. Typically, one of the main advantages of a static IP address is reliable streaming performance. Instead, PIA’s dedicated IP feature is primarily designed for accessing sites that require a whitelisted IP address, such as online banking.
Given its limited application, we recommend that users consider this feature only if they have a specific need for it.
Virtual Server Locations
Private Internet Access exclusively employs bare-metal (physical) servers, yet 41% of its server locations are categorized as virtual. PIA clearly identifies its virtual server locations with a globe icon. Users have the option to disable these virtual locations by toggling off the ‘Include Geo-Located Regions’ setting in the app.
Virtual Server Locations
A virtual server location assigns an IP address based on your selected region, regardless of the physical server’s actual location. This capability enables VPN providers to offer IP addresses in countries where establishing a physical server may be challenging.
Additionally, virtual server locations can enhance connection speeds if the physical server is closer to your actual location than the assigned IP address. Conversely, if the physical server is located farther from your real location than indicated, performance may decline significantly.
When implemented correctly, the use of virtual server locations poses no inherent issues. Private Internet Access (PIA) demonstrates a commendable level of transparency by clearly labeling these servers and providing users the option to disable them entirely.
Rented but Secure VPN Servers
A representative from PIA confirmed that the majority, if not all, of their VPN servers are rented from third-party providers. The representative stated:
“The majority of our servers, if not all of them, are rented from third parties.”
PIA further emphasized that it employs a stringent vetting process for these third-party vendors.
Many VPN providers rent servers from data centers worldwide to facilitate access to a global network. However, this practice necessitates placing trust in an additional entity regarding data security.
In general, rented servers are acceptable as long as the VPN provider diligently audits both the hardware and the network environment in which it operates.
We inquired about PIA’s vetting process and its assurances of compliance from third parties; however, PIA declined to provide a response.
It is not uncommon for a VPN service to rent hardware. However, given PIA’s security-focused reputation, we anticipated greater transparency regarding its server ownership and vetting procedures. It is our hope that PIA will improve in this area in the future.
Security and Technical Features
Robust Security, Open Source Applications, and Comprehensive Features
Rating: 9.3/10
Private Internet Access (PIA) is recognized as a highly secure VPN, offering extensive customization options and a comprehensive range of features. It employs the most advanced connection protocols and encryption standards, including WireGuard and AES-256. To enhance transparency, PIA has made its applications open source. Our rigorous security assessments confirmed that PIA effectively encrypts internet traffic and conceals users’ IP addresses.
PIA is ranked #8 out of 62 VPNs for Security and Technical Features.

Private Internet Access (PIA) supports various protocols, including OpenVPN, WireGuard, IKEv2, and L2TP/IPSec, allowing users to choose between UDP and TCP connections.
By default, the service employs AES 128-bit encryption to secure your connection; however, we recommend selecting the AES-256 cipher in the settings or switching to the WireGuard protocol for enhanced security.
PIA includes built-in protection against both IPv4 and IPv6 leaks, DNS leak protection, and a VPN kill switch across all platforms. Our tests have shown no IP, DNS, or WebRTC leaks in any of the applications.
Private DNS Servers
PIA operates its own private DNS servers, ensuring that your DNS requests are handled directly by Private Internet Access rather than your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This arrangement guarantees that third parties cannot monitor the websites you visit, as all traffic is managed by PIA from start to finish.
Additionally, the applications offer flexibility, with the Windows client allowing users to configure any custom DNS of their choice.
Highly Customizable Encryption
Unlike many VPN services, Private Internet Access (PIA) provides users with detailed control over the algorithms and protocols utilized for data encryption.
Adjusting your encryption settings can be beneficial for optimizing performance and tailoring the VPN to meet your specific security requirements; however, this flexibility may be overwhelming for some beginners.
The default configuration secures your connection using OpenVPN and AES 128-bit encryption. For enhanced security, users can upgrade to AES-256 (CBC or GCM) through the settings menu.
Additionally, users have the option to select the encryption level employed for data authentication and the VPN handshake. These processes enable your device and the server to verify the authenticity of the connection and the data being transmitted.
The default settings utilize RSA-2048 and SHA-256, but users can opt for enhanced security with RSA-4096 and SHA-384.
Recommended Secure Settings
The default settings do not prioritize the highest level of security; therefore, we advise configuring the following settings:
- VPN Protocol: WireGuard
- Local Port: Auto
- Connection Timeout: 1 minute
- MTU: Auto
Unique Advanced Security Features
Private Internet Access (PIA) offers a variety of advanced security features developed internally, which are unique to this VPN service, although some may bear resemblance to functionalities found in other VPNs.
PIA’s advanced features include an ad blocker (PIA MACE), a private browsing option (InBrowser), and a SOCKS5 encrypted proxy. Below is a brief overview of these features:
Custom Ad & Tracker Blocker: PIA MACE
PIA MACE is a DNS-based malware and ad blocker located in the ‘Privacy’ section of the application’s settings. This feature effectively blocks access to domains that are frequently associated with ads, trackers, and malware.
However, MACE has its limitations as an ad blocker. Users cannot whitelist specific domains or modify the filter settings; the feature can only be toggled On or Off.
The absence of a whitelist option means that users are compelled to keep the feature activated, which may result in certain websites not functioning properly.
Our testing has indicated that while MACE is not flawless, it remains one of the most effective VPN ad blockers available, despite the concerns raised by some PIA users.
Private Mobile Browser: InBrowser
InBrowser is a private browser available for both iOS and Android devices. It provides a consistently private browsing experience by automatically deleting your history, cookies, and session data each time you exit the application.
Obfuscation: Shadowsocks Protocol
Shadowsocks is an open-source encrypted proxy option that can be easily selected within the app’s interface. Also referred to as SOCKS5, Shadowsocks is favored by torrent users and individuals seeking to bypass internet censorship due to its high speeds.
To utilize the SOCKS5 proxy, users must generate a unique username and password from the Client Control Panel.
Open-Source Applications
All desktop applications, mobile clients, and browser extensions offered by PIA are open-source. This transparency allows anyone to review the source code, understand how the applications are developed, and contribute to improvements by fixing errors and enhancing the code. This practice provides clear assurance that the applications function as advertised, free from any malicious hidden code.
Other VPN services, such as ProtonVPN and IVPN, have also opted to open-source their applications. While it remains relatively uncommon among VPN providers, we encourage more to adopt this practice.
Leak Test Results: PIA Safeguards Your Data
PIA includes built-in protection against IPv4, IPv6, and DNS leaks. DNS leak protection is enabled by default on the macOS application but must be manually activated on the Windows version.
Our testing confirmed that both the desktop and mobile applications do not leak user data. We conducted tests for IP, DNS, and WebRTC leaks, consistently ensuring that our real IP address in London remained protected.
These features collectively establish Private Internet Access (PIA) as one of the safest and most advanced VPNs we have evaluated. PIA consistently upholds its reputation for security and anonymity, and we are impressed by its ability to maintain such high standards throughout our testing over the years.
Additional Security Features for Consideration
- IPv6 Support: While Private Internet Access (PIA) effectively conceals IPv6 addresses, it does not replace them with spoofed addresses as it does for IPv4. Implementing this feature would significantly reduce the risk of IPv6 leaks in the future.
- GPS Spoofing: Although few VPNs offer GPS spoofing, its introduction by PIA would greatly enhance its capacity to conceal users’ true locations, particularly on mobile devices.
- Whole-Network Server Ownership: PIA currently rents a significant number of servers. Transitioning to a fully owned network would provide an added layer of security and reassurance for users.
Bypassing Web Censorship
PIA Performance in China
Bypassing Censorship Rating: 8.0/10
Private Internet Access (PIA) is recognized as one of the leading VPNs for circumventing censorship. While it has historically been reliable for use in China, recent testing indicates a decline in performance. Although it remains a viable option for accessing restricted content in China, it cannot ensure a 100% success rate. PIA continues to perform well in other heavily restricted regions, including Russia, Turkey, and the UAE.
Ranked #9 out of 62 VPNs for Bypassing Web Censorship
We conduct weekly tests of PIA VPN’s access in China, utilizing a designated server in Shanghai. This involves remote connections from our test office to assess PIA’s ability to unblock websites within the country.
Over the past three months, PIA has recorded an uptime of 50% in China. While this performance does not place it among the top VPNs for the region, it remains a competitive choice, just outside the top five.
To effectively bypass the Great Firewall with PIA, we recommend using the OpenVPN protocol and enabling the Shadowsocks proxy within the app’s settings.
PIA’s Shadowsocks Advantage
PIA incorporates Shadowsocks, a third-party proxy designed specifically for use in China. Although Shadowsocks may not offer the same level of safety or effectiveness as proprietary VPN obfuscation tools, it does facilitate access to popular applications and websites such as Instagram, Facebook, Gmail, and WhatsApp.
Device and Operating System Compatibility
Comprehensive Device Compatibility
Private Internet Access (PIA) offers custom applications for all major platforms, including Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Fire TV. Additionally, PIA provides Smart DNS functionality for IP spoofing on other platforms; however, it does not support unblocking streaming sites. While it is technically feasible to install PIA on certain router models, there is no dedicated app available, which presents several limitations. Notably, PIA has recently enhanced its connection limit, allowing users to install and utilize the service on an unlimited number of devices simultaneously.
Supported Applications
Private Internet Access is compatible with the following platforms:
- Windows
- macOS
- iOS
- Android
- Linux
- Routers
This comprehensive suite of applications meets the expectations of a leading VPN provider. The ability to secure every device concurrently under a single account is a significant advantage for users.
PIA can be installed on various routers, including DD-WRT, Merlin, Pfsense, and OpenWRT/LEDE. However, it lacks a dedicated router application like ExpressVPN, which limits its performance in this context. The setup process can be slow and not particularly user-friendly, leading us to recommend against using PIA at the router level—this sentiment is also echoed by PIA itself.
Game Consoles & Streaming Devices
If you decide to install PIA on your router, it is compatible with the following devices:
- Apple TV
- Amazon Fire TV
- Android TV
- Chromecast
- Nintendo
- PlayStation
- Roku
- Xbox
Additionally, PIA’s Smart DNS feature can be utilized to change your IP address on these devices; however, it does not provide encryption for any traffic transmitted to or from them.
Browser Extensions
Private Internet Access (PIA) offers browser extensions available on the Chrome and Firefox web stores. Additionally, users can install the extensions on Microsoft Edge and Opera by visiting the Chrome Web Store, where we have confirmed compatibility for both platforms.
Supported Browsers:
- Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Firefox
- Opera
These extensions enable users to connect directly to a PIA VPN server from their browser interface, effectively hiding their IP address and securing their traffic using Squid HTTPS.
It is important to note that VPN browser extensions only encrypt traffic within the browser and do not secure other activities on your computer. For comprehensive encryption and protection of all web traffic, it is recommended to use the full PIA VPN software.
PIA’s browser extensions are compatible with nearly all major browsers, with Safari being the only notable exception. This broad compatibility sets PIA apart, as many VPN providers either neglect browser support or offer extensions that fail to function properly. Therefore, PIA is an excellent choice for users who prefer utilizing browser-based VPN solutions over full applications.
Ease of Use
User-Friendly Interface, Yet Potentially Overwhelming
Ease of Use Rating: 8.1/10
Private Internet Access (PIA) is a well-crafted VPN solution available across various platforms. While it offers a straightforward user experience, its extensive array of features and customization options can be overwhelming for newcomers to VPNs. Experienced users will likely appreciate the depth of functionality available, but those unfamiliar with VPN technology may find it somewhat intimidating.
PIA ranks #22 out of 62 VPNs in terms of ease of use.
In the following section, we will provide a detailed analysis of each PIA VPN client, highlighting what users can expect from the service. We will also outline the notable differences among the various Private Internet Access applications, along with a feature overview for each platform in the accompanying table.
Desktop and Laptop (Windows and Mac)
The Private Internet Access (PIA) Windows application provides an optimal combination of performance and features, with the macOS version closely following suit.
Installation is straightforward, and the app opens to a user-friendly interface, allowing users to connect to their preferred server location, access the settings menu, and view both their real and virtual IP addresses.
For more advanced VPN users, a downward-facing arrow grants access to a broader range of settings. This expanded view displays the volume of data transmitted during the VPN session, enables the VPN snooze feature, and allows users to monitor their VPN’s performance.
The PIA Windows app also includes a ‘Proxy’ tab within the settings, which enables users to route their VPN connection through an additional location. Users can select from Shadowsocks or SOCKS5 proxy options, with multiple locations available for enhanced flexibility.
By default, the application operates in the Windows system tray, positioning the client in the bottom right corner of the device’s screen. The option to detach the app from the tray is located within the ‘General’ section of the app’s settings, which can be challenging for users to locate. We recommend addressing this issue for improved accessibility.
There are several minor differences that may contribute to a more frustrating experience with the macOS app compared to its Windows counterpart.
Firstly, the Private Internet Access (PIA) Mac application launches as a menu bar app by default, preventing it from being conveniently placed in the dock or accessed via Spotlight. Additionally, even when detached from the menu bar, standard keyboard shortcuts are not functional within the app.
Moreover, the performance of the PIA macOS application is noticeably slower in terms of loading and operation. When utilized as a windowed application, it takes approximately three seconds to load. While this may seem minimal, it can contribute to a cumbersome user experience.
Mobile (Android & iOS)
The PIA Android application stands out as the most effective of its mobile offerings, delivering advanced VPN features while maintaining user-friendly simplicity. Visually, the Android and iOS applications are nearly identical. However, the Android app provides a wider array of configuration options, featuring more settings than some competing desktop clients.
Tapping your current server location will reveal a list of alternative options. The application includes a favorites system that ensures your most frequently used servers are always positioned at the top of the list.
Android users have the flexibility to choose between TCP or UDP connections, request port forwarding, customize DNS servers, and adjust encryption settings as needed.
The application can be configured to automatically activate protection when connecting to unknown wireless networks or to disable itself when using mobile data.
Additionally, the app features a built-in kill switch, a split tunneling option known as Per App Settings, and the capability to set your device to vibrate upon connecting to a PIA server.
Due to restrictions imposed by Google, the Private Internet Access app available through the Google Play Store does not include MACE, PIA’s proprietary ad blocker. This feature is also absent from the iOS app.
To obtain PIA MACE on your Android device, users must download the .APK file directly from the PIA website, which also provides a straightforward step-by-step setup guide.
While it may have slightly fewer features, the iOS app offers the most diverse selection of VPN protocols among all PIA applications, allowing users to switch between OpenVPN, WireGuard, IPsec, or IKEv2.
We commend the extensive customization options available on iOS, as this platform often receives less attention in the VPN space. Users can set a custom port, modify their DNS server, adjust encryption settings, and enable a VPN kill switch. This exceptional functionality positions PIA as one of the leading VPNs for iOS devices.
The home screen facilitates quick connections to recently used server locations and allows users to toggle network management settings, including the option to automatically permit trusted networks.
Both iOS and Android users have access to InBrowser, PIA’s private browser designed for enhanced privacy on these platforms.
Streaming Devices (Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV)
Private Internet Access (PIA) offers applications for Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV that are visually appealing and user-friendly, featuring a dark mode display that enhances readability on television screens.
The ability to favorite locations is a valuable feature, as it eliminates unnecessary scrolling through the server list, particularly on Apple TV.
Users will find that connecting to servers and adjusting settings is seamless, as PIA’s streaming applications maintain a user interface consistent with their desktop counterparts.
However, it is noteworthy that we were only able to stream US Netflix on 25% of PIA’s US servers. This level of reliability is significantly lower than what is experienced with the desktop and mobile applications.
PIA’s Smart DNS Tool
Private Internet Access has recently introduced a Smart DNS feature designed to alter your location on devices that do not support VPN application installation. This tool allows users to change their geo-location to the US, the UK, Germany, Japan, or the Netherlands.
Unfortunately, during our testing on Apple TV, we found that the Smart DNS tool was ineffective with any streaming applications. It failed to unblock popular services such as Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, and Hulu. The screenshot below illustrates how HBO Max detected the Smart DNS proxy, preventing access to the streaming service.
This is one of the few options available for utilizing Private Internet Access (PIA) on devices such as gaming consoles and Smart TVs, so the lack of functionality for streaming was particularly disappointing.
Browser Extensions
PIA’s browser extensions offer a variety of settings to explore and, overall, perform effectively.
Additional privacy features include the ability to prevent websites from accessing your location, camera, or microphone, block Flash, and bypass specific websites. Users can also block third-party cookies, website referrers, and trackers. For those seeking a straightforward experience, selecting a location and clicking “Connect” is an easy option.
We strongly recommend enabling the “Block WebRTC IP Detection” feature in the PIA Firefox extension. Failing to do so may result in your IP address leaking through WebRTC, exposing you to a privacy vulnerability within the Firefox browser.
